PDP Elects New Leaders in Plateau State

The Peoples Democratic Party in Plateau State has chosen new leaders to manage its affairs for the next four years.

The election took place on Saturday during the party’s congress in Jos, the state capital.According to the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Dr David Umbugadu, a total of 39 members were elected into various positions through a process described as open and fair. Although most of the officials emerged through consensus, delegates still voted to confirm their selection.

Representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission and other key stakeholders were present to monitor the exercise.After the votes were counted, Umbugadu officially declared the winners, confirming their positions as the new executives of the party in the state.

The newly elected Chairman, Raymond Dabo, pledged to work with dedication and loyalty to strengthen the party’s structure and ensure steady progress.Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State congratulated the new officials and urged them to focus on building unity within the party.

He advised them to settle internal disputes, promote inclusion, and prepare the PDP for future elections.The new leadership is expected to serve for four years and lead the party into the 2027 general elections.
