Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, has tested negative for COVID-19.
Governor Akeredolu in a weekly press briefing on Monday confirmed the development.
He said the doctors confirmed his negative status after running the test twice.
“After a few days in isolation, my samples were taken and tested again in accordance with the treatment protocols of COVID-19, the results came in few minutes ago. I tested negative.
“Though asymptomatic, I tested positive to the virus and immediately went into self isolation with supervised home management.
“Those days in isolation were defining period for me. They convinced me further of the right track we have chosen, to mobilise our people against the deadly pandemic.”
Meanwhile, following the resignation of Ifedayo Abegunde as the Secretary to the Ondo State Governor Akeredolu has announced the appointment of Temitayo Oluwatuyi as the new SSG in the state.
The governor disclosed this via his verified Twitter handle saying the appointment is with immediate effect.
“Today, I announced the appointment of Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi “Tukana” as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) to resume immediately following the resignation of Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde,” Akeredolu wrote.
