The governing council of the University of Lagos has sacked Vice-Chancellor Prof Olawatoyin Ogundipe.
The reason for his removal was not clear as at the time of writing this report, but it was announced Wednesday during the meeting of the Governing Council of the institution.
The meeting – presided over by its Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Dr Wale Babalakin (SAN) – was held at the National Universities Commission (NUC) building in Abuja.
Seven members voted for his removal while four voted against.
One of the members however voted that he should be placed on suspension.
