Prisoners have escaped from the custodial facility in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, due to severe flooding that has overwhelmed the city.
The facility, which houses some of the state’s most dangerous inmates, has sustained significant damage, resulting in an unconfirmed number of prisoners escaping.
Authorities have confirmed that some of the escapees are considered highly dangerous and may be armed.
