Omisore Set to Battle for Osun Governorship Seat in 2026 Under APC

Former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has declared his intention to contest the 2026 governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Omisore made this known in a post on his X handle on Saturday, stating that his formal declaration would take place on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the APC Secretariat in Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo.

The event, themed “Fix the Broken, Restore Our Dreams,” is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.According to him, the decision followed extensive consultations and reflection on the state’s current challenges.

His campaign, tagged Osun Rescue Mission 2026, will focus on rebuilding public trust, improving governance, and reviving the state’s economic prospects.

Omisore, who previously contested the Osun governorship election in 2014 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before joining the APC, is expected to be one of the leading aspirants seeking the party’s ticket ahead of the 2026 poll.
