The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to participate in the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum scheduled to take place this week.
Wike departed Abuja on Sunday and landed in Dubai at about 4 a.m. on Monday. He was received at the airport by Nigeria’s Consul General in Dubai, Ambassador Zayyanu Ibrahim, alongside senior officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) who had arrived ahead of him.
Among the officials present were the Acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, Engr. Richard Yunana Dauda; the Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Legal and Multilateral Cooperation, Benedict Daudu; the Director of Development Control, Mukhtar Galadima; the Director of Engineering Services, Engr. Chuks Udeh; and the Director of Protocol, Sani Musa Daura.
The FCT Minister is expected to join other city leaders, mayors, and business executives from around the world in discussing strategies for sustainable urban growth, trade, and investment during the summit.
On Tuesday morning, he will participate in a panel session where he will speak about the Federal Capital Territory’s development goals and engage with mayors from other global cities.
Organised by the Brisbane City Council of Australia, the Asia Pacific Cities Summit is a major international platform that brings together leaders from cities, businesses, and organisations across the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.
The summit aims to promote collaboration, attract investment, and explore opportunities for innovation and development among participating regions.
Wike’s attendance at the forum is part of efforts to strengthen Abuja’s global partnerships and attract investors interested in urban infrastructure and development across the Federal Capital Territory.
