Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, visited the construction site of the six-lane road linking Life Camp Junction to Ring Road 3 near Karmo, Abuja, to assess the level of work done so far. The project is being handled by construction company Julius Berger and is expected to be completed early next year.
The road has shown fast progress within one month. Earlier images from the contractor showed that only one side of the road had been worked on. During the latest inspection, it was observed that a large portion of the project had been completed, showing steady improvement on the site.
The contractor said the left side of the road is expected to be completed by December, while the right side is planned for delivery in January next year. When completed, the road is expected to improve movement of vehicles, reduce traffic, and make travel easier for people using the busy route.
During the visit, Wike praised the workers for their efforts and urged them to maintain safety on the site while keeping to the project timeline. He also reassured residents that the FCT Administration remains focused on improving road infrastructure to support growth and daily movement in Abuja.
The Life Camp to Ring Road 3 project is part of the broader plan by the FCT government to upgrade the city’s road network and make daily commuting easier for residents.
