Wike Reinstates Education Mandate Secretary, FCT IRS Chairman

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has approved the reinstatement of the Mandate Secretary for Education, Dr Danlami Hayyo, and the Acting Executive Chairman of the FCT Internal Revenue Service, Mr Michael Ango.

The decision was announced on Wednesday in a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.

According to the statement, the minister directed both officials to return to their duties with immediate effect. He also made it clear that discipline remains a core requirement within the Federal Capital Territory Administration and that misconduct by public officials will not be accepted.

The reinstatement restores Dr Hayyo to his role overseeing education matters in the FCT, while Mr Ango resumes leadership of the territory’s revenue service in an acting capacity.

The minister reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to order, accountability and proper conduct among officials of the FCTA as part of efforts to ensure effective governance in the nation’s capital.
