Wike-Backed PDP Caretaker Committee Gives Bala Group 14 Days to Quit Bauchi Secretariats

The Bauchi State PDP caretaker committee ordered all executives loyal to Governor Bala Mohammed to vacate PDP secretariats across the state within 14 days. The directive was announced at a press conference addressed by the committee’s chairman, Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, who warned that failure to comply would lead to legal action.

Jungudo explained that the caretaker committee was set up by the PDP National Working Committee to manage party affairs in Bauchi State and address internal disputes that have affected the party’s operations. He said the committee had accepted the responsibility and would carry out its duties based on the party’s constitution and instructions from the national leadership.

The caretaker committee pledged loyalty to the PDP’s national structure and said its focus would be on restoring order, discipline, and internal unity within the party. Jungudo added that the committee would operate within the law and would not tolerate any form of violence, stressing that any disruption would be blamed on Governor Bala Mohammed.

The committee also apologised to a former Governor of Jigawa State and PDP founding member, Sule Lamido, over the treatment he allegedly received during the party’s aborted national convention. According to Jungudo, Lamido was prevented from obtaining nomination forms, an action the committee linked to Governor Bala Mohammed.

In addition, the caretaker committee rejected claims by individuals presenting themselves as PDP national officers and dismissed a recent convention held in Ibadan, describing it as invalid. Jungudo said the meeting did not follow court rulings and was not monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

He further stated that decisions taken at the PDP’s 103rd National Executive Committee meeting held on November 18, 2025, included the expulsion of Governor Bala Mohammed and the dissolution of state party executives. He urged party members and the public to respect those resolutions.

The caretaker committee again directed all occupants of PDP offices across Bauchi State who are not recognised by the committee to remove their belongings and leave the premises within 14 days. Jungudo also appealed to party members considering defection to remain, assuring them of fairness and inclusion under the new leadership.
