Traditional rulers in parts of the Federal Capital Territory have pledged their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, saying residents of satellite towns are now feeling the presence of the federal government more than in the past. The monarchs made this known during visits by the FCT Renewed Hope Ambassadors, led by their coordinator, Hon. Adamu Abdullahi, also known as Candido.
In Rubochi, the Esu Sa’Rubochi said government activities had become visible in the area within the last two years. He expressed satisfaction with the appointment of the group’s coordinator and assured the President and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, of full backing from his community. He also promised to use his influence to support the All Progressives Congress in upcoming elections.
The Gomo of Kuje, Alhaji Haruna Jibrin, praised the improvement of road networks in Kuje, noting that better roads have attracted businesses and new residents to the town. He said the changes have helped position Kuje as a growing centre for economic activity. According to him, the level of attention given to the area under the current administration shows commitment to development. He assured that Kuje would support both the Area Council elections and the President’s re-election.
At the palace of the Etsu of Kwali, the monarch’s spokesperson and a former council chairman thanked the federal government for infrastructure projects carried out in the area. He said these projects have boosted commercial activities and strengthened ties between the community and the ruling party. He also reaffirmed Kwali’s loyalty to the APC and encouraged the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to take their message to all communities within the FCT.
Responding, the coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors spoke on the various development projects carried out in the FCT under President Tinubu’s administration. He credited the progress to the leadership of the FCT Minister, noting that ongoing works across the territory reflect the administration’s development agenda.
