Dele Momodu, a leader of the African Democratic Congress spoke during an X Space discussion on Nigeria’s political future and the 2027 elections. He said many members of the All Progressives Congress are unhappy with the administration of President Bola Tinubu, even though they do not speak openly about it.
Momodu made this known while answering questions from listeners during the online session titled Avrilsspace: The Electoral Mathematics for 2027. He said Nigerians should be worried about the path the ruling party is taking the country under Tinubu’s leadership.
According to him, dissatisfaction within the APC goes beyond party lines. He explained that even people close to power privately complain about the way the country is being run. He added that many party loyalists and public supporters often say one thing in public but share different views in private conversations.
Momodu also referred to Lagos politics, saying many residents publicly present Tinubu as the final authority in the state, but express different opinions when spoken to privately. He noted that this pattern is not new and happens with many leaders, both in Nigeria and in other countries.
He said people often remain silent when leaders are in power because they hope to benefit in one way or another in the future. He added that this silent frustration explains why public praise does not always reflect real feelings among party members and supporters.
Momodu’s comments come as political talks and alignments continue ahead of the 2027 general elections, with growing public debate over governance, leadership, and the direction of the country.
