The Federal Capital Territory Administration has provided residents with four phone numbers to report refuse that has not been cleared in their areas. The move is meant to tackle the rising waste challenge across the territory and ensure that waste contractors carry out their duties on time.
The Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, explained that residents should send clear pictures or videos of uncleared refuse through WhatsApp. He added that the exact location of the waste must be included so the responsible contractors can be identified and held accountable.
The phone numbers made available for this purpose are 08038643087, 07011073406, 07011255710, and 09114843425. The FCTA expects public participation to help keep the city clean and improve service delivery.
