Kalu Urges Otti to Join APC Ahead of 2027
Who, what, when, where, why, and how came into focus on Monday in Agbamuzu, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, when the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, called on Governor Alex Otti to leave his current party and join the All Progressives Congress (APC). Kalu made the appeal during a town hall meeting he organized in his hometown, saying the move would attract full backing for Otti within the ruling party ahead of future political plans.
Kalu explained that the APC was willing to receive leaders who were ready to work together to grow the party and move its agenda forward in Abia State. He said his invitation to the governor was open and public, adding that the party would stand behind Otti if he decided to defect.
The Deputy Speaker also used the occasion to speak on national issues, stating that returning home to engage with his people was important to him. He noted that the National Assembly was working alongside President Bola Tinubu’s administration to address the needs of Nigerians across the country.
Kalu said he remained answerable to his constituents and believed strongly that Nigeria was moving toward better days. He further urged citizens to continue supporting the President, the APC, and the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that the current administration was focused on laying a strong foundation that would benefit future generations.
