Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, on Tuesday began the All Progressives Congress digital membership registration and revalidation exercise in the state, saying the process will help the party grow stronger and remain ahead in elections. The exercise officially started after the governor revalidated his own membership at the party secretariat in Gombe.
The registration was carried out by the APC agent from Yahaya’s Jekadafari Ward, with ward and party officials present. The governor said the digital system would give a clear and accurate record of the party’s members across the country. He praised President Bola Tinubu and the APC national leadership for approving the electronic method, which requires National Identity Numbers, voter cards, and APC membership cards to confirm genuine members.
Yahaya encouraged party members and supporters across Gombe State to take part in the process so they can receive digital proof of their membership. He assured residents that arrangements were in place to make the exercise smooth, open, and accessible in all parts of the state.
The governor said the APC remains focused on meeting the needs of the people through good governance and development. He added that his administration, under the APC platform, has made progress in improving infrastructure and social conditions in the state compared to the period before the party came into power.
He also noted that the support of party members and the people of Gombe State has played a major role in the achievements recorded so far. According to him, the APC remains firm and well-established in the state, and he pledged to continue providing leadership that will lead to more electoral wins.
Yahaya warned party members against actions that could cause division, stating that the APC leadership would take action against anyone found working against the unity of the party.
Earlier, the Gombe State APC Chairman, Nitte Amangal, explained that the digital registration and revalidation exercise is meant to increase the party’s membership strength and improve its organisation ahead of the 2027 general elections. He added that the governor’s participation marked the official start of the exercise across the state and urged members at all levels to fully take part.
