Wike Approves Promotion for Over 2,000 FCT Workers

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has approved the immediate promotion of more than 2,000 workers serving under the Federal Capital Development Authority and the Federal Capital Territory Administration. The approval followed promotion examinations conducted over five days in late November 2025.
The Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Ezeh, announced the development on Wednesday, explaining that the promoted officers came from 165 different cadres across the service. He stated that the exercise reflects the administration’s resolve to support career growth and improve morale among public servants.
Ezeh added that the commission plans to continue holding promotion examinations as scheduled and encouraged workers to prepare early for the 2025 and 2026 exercises. He noted that promotions would remain merit-based, with diligence and performance serving as key requirements.
He also confirmed that the commission will sustain the use of Computer-Based Tests for promotion examinations, a system introduced to strengthen transparency and improve the efficiency of the process within the FCT civil service.
