Kano govt to prosecute suspects in killing of mother, six children

The Kano State Government has announced that it will take full charge of prosecuting those arrested in connection with the killing of a married woman and her six children in the Dorayi Chiranchi area of Kano city.
The government said the attack has left the state in grief and disbelief, describing the incident as a brutal act that goes against basic human values and the law. It added that the case is too serious to be treated lightly and must be handled with care and urgency.
In a statement released by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Abdulkarim Kabiru Maude, SAN, the state government said Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had directed that sympathy be conveyed to the victims’ relatives and the wider Kano community. The government assured the family that they would not face the painful moment alone.
The state also praised the Kano State Police Command for acting quickly after the incident. According to the government, the fast investigation and arrest of the main suspects showed the determination of security agencies to fight crime and protect lives.
The Attorney General’s office said it would handle the matter without delay and with professionalism. A team of lawyers will be put together to ensure the case is properly prosecuted and that anyone found responsible is punished according to the law.
The government restated its commitment to justice and public safety, saying the prosecution would send a clear message that such crimes will not be tolerated in Kano State.
