Factional PDP BoT chair applauds Tinubu, Otti over Abia infrastructure

Senator Mao Ohuabunwa said the administration of Governor Alex Otti has changed the way infrastructure development is viewed and carried out in Abia State within three years of assuming office. He made this known while addressing members of his political support group during their 2026 annual conference in Arochukwu.
He encouraged Governor Otti to stay committed to his New Abia agenda and advised him not to be distracted by opposition activities, which he said had in the past slowed the state’s growth. Ohuabunwa noted that the large turnout at the conference showed the level of support for both the Abia State government and President Bola Tinubu.
The former lawmaker, who also serves as Pro-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, expressed appreciation to members of the Follow Better Organisation for standing by him and backing the current leadership in the state. He maintained that many members of the organisation and the PDP now openly acknowledge the performance of the present Abia administration, especially in road and other public projects.
Other speakers at the event, including community leaders from Arochukwu, Ohafia and Umunneochi, as well as women representatives, thanked President Tinubu for appointing Ohuabunwa as Pro-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt. They also pledged continued support for both the federal and Abia State governments.
Officials of the Follow Better Organisation explained that the conference was organised to renew loyalty to Ohuabunwa’s leadership. They described him as a well-known political figure in the state and praised his efforts toward strengthening the group and contributing to development in Abia State and the country at large.
