The Obidient Movement on Saturday raised concerns about an alleged problem with the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Results Viewing Portal during the Federal Capital Territory Area Council elections.
The group said results said to have been uploaded from several polling units were not appearing on the IReV server as expected.
The concern was made public in a statement issued during the ongoing elections across the six area councils of the FCT—Abuja Municipal Area Council, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje, Abaji and Kwali—where voters were choosing chairmen and councillors.
According to the movement, information available to it showed that while the IReV server was active, uploaded results were not visible on the portal.
The group called on its supporters and other Nigerians to stay alert during the collation of results.
The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, Yunusa Tanko, advised members to peacefully observe the collation process at designated centres, including the INEC office in Area 10 and in Karu.
The group also urged voters to keep accurate records of results from their polling units for verification purposes.
The movement appealed for calm and lawful conduct, encouraging citizens to monitor developments without causing disruption. It stated that safeguarding the electoral process should be done through peaceful and legal means.
The IReV platform was introduced by INEC to allow the public to view polling unit results uploaded directly from the field in real time, with the aim of promoting transparency in elections.
As of the time of filing this report, INEC had not issued any official response regarding the alleged malfunction raised by the Obidient Movement.
