Ogun APC Orders LG Congress to Begin at Noon

The All Progressives Congress in Ogun State on Saturday directed that its local government congress across the state must begin at 12 noon.

The instruction was issued by the state chapter of the party ahead of the exercise scheduled for February 21, 2026. The party said the timing would apply to all local government areas without exception to ensure order in the conduct of the congress.

The directive was made public in Abeokuta through a statement released by the state Publicity Secretary, Femi Nuberu. According to the party, no council area is allowed to start the congress before midday.

It said the decision was taken to allow proper coordination of the process in all parts of the state and to avoid confusion or irregularities during the exercise.

The party called on officials, electoral officers, aspirants and members to obey the instruction and maintain peace throughout the process. It stated that discipline and unity remain key values of the party and urged members to conduct themselves in a calm manner during the congress.

The APC also expressed satisfaction with the ward congress held earlier in the week, describing it as peaceful and orderly. It commended party members and leaders across the state for their conduct during that exercise, noting that their cooperation helped to ensure a smooth process.

The party added that it remains committed to fair internal processes and expressed confidence that the local government congress would strengthen its structure across Ogun State.
