The All Progressives Congress in Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State has chosen Prince Dotun Oladipupo as the new chairman of the party in the council area.
The election took place during the party’s local government congress held at Olomi Primary School on Saturday.
Party member and former council chairman, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, said the result of the congress was a step toward strengthening the party’s structure in the area.
He said the party hopes to increase its support base and deliver more votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election.
Olaosebikan congratulated the newly elected chairman and his executive team, saying the party selected a leader who is popular among members and has the skills needed to improve party activities.
He described Oladipupo as a capable politician who can work well with other members to push the party forward.
He added that the party’s plan to triple its votes in the next general election would be easier with the emergence of the new chairman. According to him, Oladipupo is a team player, experienced in politics, and understands the needs of party members.
The former council chairman also thanked party leaders and members in the local government for supporting the congress and ensuring that committed individuals were elected into the party’s executive committee.
Other officials elected alongside the new chairman include Alhaji Mumeen Oriade as secretary, Kikelomo Akinleye as woman leader, Tunde Garuba as youth leader, and Saheed Akilapa as publicity secretary among others.
