The Labour Party in Benue State has announced a new leadership structure with the appointment of an interim executive committee. The development is part of efforts to strengthen the party’s operations in the state ahead of future political activities.
Ochonu Williams was named as the new state chairman to lead the team. Before this role, he served as Chief of Staff to Philip Agbese, where he handled administrative duties and supported legislative work.
The appointment was made under the leadership of the party’s national chairman, Nenadi Usman. The newly selected executive members are expected to take charge of party coordination and activities across the state.
Williams and his team are to oversee party affairs, build structures at different levels, and guide members as the party prepares for future elections. Their role also includes engaging supporters and improving the party’s presence across local government areas.
The move reflects ongoing efforts by the Labour Party to reorganise its structure in various states as political activities gradually increase ahead of the next election cycle.
