The African Democratic Congress has begun selling Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for its upcoming ward, local government, state congresses, and national convention.
The process was announced on Sunday through a notice issued by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Pa Idigo, inviting members interested in contesting for positions to obtain the required forms.
The party outlined different fees for various positions across all levels. At the ward level, those seeking to contest for chairman, secretary, and other roles are expected to pay set amounts, while higher fees apply to positions at the local government and state levels. For the national convention, delegates are also required to pay a nomination fee, with each local government expected to send a representative.
In addition to purchasing forms, aspirants must secure a specific number of nominators depending on the position they are contesting. These nominators are also required to pay a small, non-refundable fee as part of the process.
The party set a deadline of March 27, 2026, for the sale and submission of forms, stating that late entries will not be accepted. Screening of aspirants is scheduled to take place between March 30 and March 31, after which successful candidates will proceed to the congresses.
According to the timetable released earlier, ward and polling unit congresses will be held on April 7, followed by local government congresses on April 9 and state congresses on April 11. The process will end with the national convention scheduled for April 14.
The move marks the beginning of the party’s internal electoral process as it prepares to fill positions across different levels of its structure.
