A group supporting Oyebamiji rejected reports suggesting any form of alliance between the President and Governor Adeleke.
The group described such claims as false and maintained that the President would not support the re-election of the current governor. It also pointed to Oyebamiji’s background in public service as proof of his capacity to lead.
The group went further to question some aspects of governance in Osun State, raising concerns about policies and project execution.
In response, a media team aligned with Governor Adeleke pushed back, pointing to what it described as the governor’s wide acceptance among different groups in the state. The team criticised Oyebamiji and Oyetola, accusing them of actions that could create tension within the All Progressives Congress and affect unity among members.
The Adeleke-aligned group also claimed that internal disagreements within the APC have led to dissatisfaction among some party members, especially over how candidates were selected.
According to the same group, many supporters of the President in Osun are now backing the governor based on what they see as the preference of the people. It added that the governor continues to enjoy support from various groups, including workers, students, artisans, and farmers.
The back-and-forth reflects growing political tension in the state as the election date approaches, with both sides trying to strengthen their position and win public support.
