The Southwest chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has re-elected Isaac Kekemeke as its National Vice Chairman for the zone, with party leaders pledging full support for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
The election of Kekemeke and other zonal executives took place during the Southwest Zonal Congress at Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Onikan, Lagos.
Delegates from the six Southwest states attended the event, where the leadership team was returned through a consensus arrangement confirmed by voice vote.
Other officials elected alongside Kekemeke include Femi Aluko as Secretary, Lateef Ibirogba as Organising Secretary, Ayo Afolabi as Publicity Secretary, Adeduyi Daramola as Youth Leader, Ismail Majaro as Legal Adviser, and Dayo Ishola representing Persons with Disabilities.
Party leaders at the congress said the new leadership would work to strengthen the APC’s influence in the region and ensure a strong performance for Tinubu in the upcoming national elections. Governors and other prominent figures from Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti, and Ondo states were present to witness the exercise and show their support.
The congress was described as peaceful and orderly, in line with the provisions of the 2026 Electoral Act. Officials noted that the elections reflected unity within the Southwest APC and a shared commitment to the party’s vision for development and political growth.
Kekemeke expressed confidence that the APC would continue to consolidate its position in the region and perform strongly in the 2027 elections, promising to work closely with party leaders and grassroots members to achieve these goals.
Delegates and party members were urged to approach the upcoming elections with discipline, strategic planning, and dedication, aiming to deliver a decisive victory for Tinubu and ensure the party’s continued dominance in the Southwest.
The congress also served as a platform to prepare the party’s structures for governorship elections in the region and to unify members ahead of national contests.
