The All Progressives Congress in Enugu State on Sunday denied reports of internal crisis, mass resignations, and unpaid delegates, stating that the claims are false and meant to mislead the public.
The party, through its State Publicity Secretary, Uche Obute, said the reports about unrest within the party and complaints from delegates who attended its recent national convention were not true.
He explained that there was no issue concerning the welfare or payment of delegates, adding that the story was created to distract the party from its preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The APC also addressed claims that members were leaving the party due to marginalisation. According to the party, the political structure in the state has instead grown stronger, with increased support and alignment across different levels of leadership. It stated that the administration of Peter Mbah has helped improve unity and cooperation within the party.
The party added that its structure in the state includes members from both older and newer blocs, all of whom are actively involved in leadership roles. It cited individuals such as Oby Ajih and Ben Nwoye as examples of how different groups are represented across the party.
Reaffirming its unity under the state chairman, Martin Chukwunweike, the party urged members and the public to ignore the reports. It maintained that such claims would not affect its plans or weaken its position as it prepares for future elections in the state.
