The All Progressives Congress on Monday, April 20, 2026, announced its schedule for the 2027 general elections and set the cost of its presidential nomination form at ₦100 million. The timetable, signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, outlines key dates for the party’s primaries and other activities leading up to the elections.
According to the plan, the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms will begin on April 25 and end on May 2, while submission of completed forms is expected to close on May 4. The party fixed the presidential form at ₦100 million, which includes ₦30 million for the expression of interest and ₦70 million for the nomination form.
The APC also set fees for other positions, with governorship aspirants expected to pay ₦50 million. Those seeking Senate seats will pay ₦20 million, House of Representatives aspirants ₦10 million, and State House of Assembly aspirants ₦6 million.
Screening of aspirants is scheduled to take place between May 6 and May 8, while the results will be released on May 11. Appeals from dissatisfied aspirants will be handled between May 12 and May 13.
The party fixed its presidential primary election for May 15 and 16. Primaries for other positions will follow shortly after, with House of Representatives set for May 18, Senate on May 20, State House of Assembly on May 21, and governorship on May 23.
The timetable also shows that all appeals arising from the primaries are expected to be concluded by May 25, meaning the entire primary process will be completed within eight days.
The party included some concessions for certain groups, stating that female aspirants, young people, and persons living with disabilities will pay only for the expression of interest forms and half of the nomination fees.
The APC noted that the timetable follows its constitution, the Electoral Act, and the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission, which regulate political party activities in Nigeria.
