The All Progressives Congress has released the timetable for the screening of aspirants contesting for Senate and House of Representatives seats ahead of its primary elections.
The party made the announcement on Friday through a statement issued in Abuja by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka. According to the statement, Senate aspirants will undergo screening on May 9 and May 10 at the Abuja Continental Hotel, formerly known as Sheraton Hotel.
The APC also announced that aspirants seeking tickets for the House of Representatives will be screened on the same dates at Treasures Suites and Conferences in Abuja.
Party officials said the exercise will begin at 10 a.m. each day at both venues. Aspirants were advised to arrive on time and come with all required credentials and supporting documents needed for the process.
The screening exercise forms part of preparations by the ruling party ahead of its primaries, where candidates for different legislative seats are expected to emerge before future elections.
Political activities within the APC have continued to increase in recent weeks as aspirants across different states intensify consultations and mobilise support ahead of the internal party contests.
The party leadership is expected to complete the screening process before moving to the next stage of its electoral timetable, including the conduct of primaries and final selection of candidates for the National Assembly seats.
