The Nigerian Democratic Congress has announced plans to hold its first national convention in Abuja as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s structure and activities across the country.
The announcement was made on Friday by the party’s National Chairman, Moses Cleopas, through a statement shared on the party’s official X account. According to the notice, the convention is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Los Angeles Event Centre located on Ahmadu Bello Way in the Federal Capital Territory.
Party delegates from different states were invited to attend the gathering, which is expected to begin by 10 a.m. The convention is expected to bring together party leaders, members, and supporters as the NDC continues preparations ahead of future political activities and elections.
The meeting is also coming at a time when the party has continued to attract attention following recent political movements and defections involving politicians from different parties. In recent weeks, the NDC has appeared more active in national political discussions as new members and supporters continue to join the party.
