The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, inspected ongoing road projects across Karu, Apo-Karshi and Gbazango, also known as Arab Road in Kubwa, and expressed satisfaction with the pace and standard of work being carried out by contractors ahead of the third anniversary of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
During the inspection tour, Wike said the projects were progressing well and showed visible development across the capital city. He praised the construction companies handling the different sites, including Abdul Val, SCC and Zeberced, for maintaining quality work while keeping to agreed timelines.
The minister particularly commended Abdul Val for its work on the Karu road project. He recalled that the same company handled the Ushafa road project which was commissioned last year by Vice President Kashim Shettima on behalf of President Tinubu. According to him, the company has continued to deliver good results on major projects within the FCT.
Wike disclosed that the Karu road project is expected to be among the projects scheduled for inauguration during activities marking the President’s third year in office. He also described the Apo-Karshi road project being handled by SCC as an important project long demanded by residents of the area.
He expressed confidence that the work would be completed before the end of the year.Speaking further during the inspection, the minister also praised Zeberced for the ongoing Gbazango road project in Kubwa. He noted that the company had earlier completed the A2 to Pai road project commissioned last year and is also working on the Goma to Yangoji road project expected to be ready during the anniversary celebrations.
Wike said residents have shown excitement over the ongoing developments, adding that many people came out during the inspection without invitation because they were pleased to see visible government projects in their communities.
He added that completing projects on schedule remains just as important as maintaining quality work, noting that many activities and project inaugurations are expected during the President’s anniversary period.
