Wike-backed PDP unveils Oyo Reps candidates

The Wike-backed faction of the PDP in Oyo State has announced 14 candidates selected to fly the party’s flag in the House of Representatives elections during the 2027 polls. The names were released in a statement issued in Ibadan by the party’s state organising secretary, Stephen Olaniyi.


According to the party, the candidates emerged after primaries conducted across the state. The faction said the exercise produced representatives for federal constituencies spread across Oyo State as preparations continue ahead of the next general election.


Among those named are Samson Fatola for Ibadan South-West/North-West Federal Constituency, Idris Olanrewaju for Oyo East/Oyo West/Atiba/Afijio, and Olusegun Akinloye for Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere.
The party also presented Elizabeth Alao for Ido/Ibarapa East, Rasaki Haruna for Ibarapa Central/North, and Rotimi Ajumobi for Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency.


Other candidates announced include Adedotun Adebayo for Oluyole, Olusoji Olusegun for Ibadan North, and Solomon Odeyemi for Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency.


Victoria Akinyemi was chosen for Akinyele/Lagelu, while Abdul-Lateef Adeniran will contest in Irepo/Olorunsogo/Orelope. Ramota Azeez was also selected for Atisbo/Saki East/Saki West Federal Constituency.


The list further includes Olayemi Akinyemi for Ibadan South-East/North-East and Ajoke Okanlawon for Ogbomoso North/South/Oriire Federal Constituency.


The faction expressed confidence that the candidates would perform well in the elections and urged party members across the state to remain united ahead of the campaign season and future political activities.
