A media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has responded to allegations made by social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, concerning Rivers State APC governorship candidate, Kingsley Chinda.
The reaction followed comments made by VeryDarkMan after Chinda emerged as the All Progressives Congress candidate for the 2027 Rivers governorship election. The social media commentator revisited earlier claims linked to a property matter in Abuja and questioned Chinda’s involvement.
In an earlier video that resurfaced online, VeryDarkMan referred to a dispute connected to an estate located in the Life Camp area of the Federal Capital Territory. He alleged that the property had been taken over and redistributed, mentioning Chinda among those he claimed benefited from the arrangement.
After Chinda later secured the APC governorship ticket in Rivers State, the commentator returned to the issue and expressed concern over the political development.
Responding through a video and social media posts, Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, rejected the allegations and criticised VeryDarkMan’s comments. He argued that the claims had already been addressed previously and maintained that the disputed land was never officially allocated to the individual who initially claimed ownership.
Olayinka also accused the social media critic of spreading incorrect information and failing to revisit the issue after contrary details emerged.
The exchange has added another layer to political conversations surrounding the Rivers governorship race, especially following Chinda’s emergence as the APC candidate ahead of the 2027 election.
The development comes as political activities and public debates continue to increase across party lines in preparation for upcoming elections.
