Taraba 2027: Kefas Emerges APC Governorship Candidate

Governor Agbu Kefas has secured the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress in Taraba State after emerging winner of the party’s primary election conducted ahead of the coming governorship poll.


The primary election was held in Taraba State, where party members voted to decide who would represent the APC in the election. At the end of the exercise, Kefas recorded 166,357 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Mu’azu Jaji, who received 4,110 votes.


Following the announcement of the result on Friday, the governor described the outcome as a moment for party members to move beyond the contest and work together toward shared political goals.


Kefas thanked the leadership of the APC at different levels for supporting the process and expressed appreciation to residents of Taraba for their continued confidence in his administration.


He also assured party supporters and the wider public that his administration would remain focused on governance and public service. According to him, his leadership approach would continue to focus on fairness, humility and service to the people.


The governor stated that his administration intends to build on projects and programmes already introduced while pursuing policies aimed at improving living conditions across the state.


With the primary concluded, the APC in Taraba is expected to shift attention toward preparations for the main election campaign as political activities gradually gather pace ahead of the next electoral cycle.
