Gunmen Kidnap Ex-Power Minister Adelabu’s Brother’s Wife, Twin Children in Ibadan

Suspected kidnappers have reportedly abducted the wife and twin children of the younger brother of former Minister of Power and All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Adebayo Adelabu.


The incident was said to have taken place on Monday morning in the Challenge area of Ibadan, creating anxiety among family members and residents.


Information made available by a member of Adelabu’s media team indicated that the victims were travelling within the city when they were attacked by armed men. The assailants reportedly intercepted them around the Elewura area and forcefully took them away.


The abducted persons were identified as the wife of Adelabu’s younger brother and her twin children. Reports indicated that the family was heading toward the expressway when the gunmen struck and whisked them away to an unknown destination.


The development has added to growing concerns over insecurity and cases of abduction in different parts of the country. Family members and associates are said to be awaiting further information regarding the whereabouts of the victims.


Meanwhile, the Oyo State Police Command has yet to provide full details on the incident. When contacted, the police spokesperson, CSP Adewale Osifeso, said the command was still making efforts to verify the report independently before issuing an official statement.


As of the time of filing this report, there was no information on contact from the kidnappers or any rescue operation. Security agencies are expected to intensify efforts to locate the victims and bring those responsible for the abduction to justice.


The incident comes amid renewed concerns over the activities of criminal groups targeting individuals and families for kidnapping in different parts of Nigeria. Residents are hoping for the safe return of the victims as authorities continue their investigations into the matter.
