Concerned leaders and stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogun State have asked the party’s national leadership to investigate allegations of financial mismanagement, abuse of office, and internal crisis involving the state chairman, Femi Soluade. The petition was submitted on June 20, 2026, and addressed to the National Chairman of the party.
The petitioners, including Hudu Idris, Ismaila Adejumon, Temitope Adebayo, and Rashidat Yekin, accused Soluade of misconduct such as alleged mismanagement of party funds, intimidation of members, and an alleged assault on his deputy. They said their complaint was based on the need to protect accountability, discipline, and transparency within the party.
They also raised concerns about how party funds were managed after Soluade assumed office as acting chairman in December 2025 following the resignation of his predecessor, Itunu Abioro. According to them, there were issues relating to how money in the party account was handled and whether proper procedures were followed.
The group further asked the national leadership to carry out a full audit of the Ogun State party account domiciled with Sterling Bank. They also requested that changes to account signatories and financial records be reviewed, saying such actions, if confirmed, would show weak internal controls and poor accountability within the state chapter.
The petitioners urged the national leadership of the ADC to set up an independent panel to investigate the allegations, examine financial records, and review claims of abuse of office and internal intimidation.
Reacting to the allegations, Femi Soluade denied any wrongdoing. He described the claims as false and misleading, saying there was no assault on his deputy and that any disagreement within the party had already been settled.
He stated that he has personally supported the party financially and insisted that all financial transactions were properly recorded. He added that he was ready to present all records to the national leadership if required and maintained that his integrity remained intact.
