PDP candidate urges unity to unseat APC in Edo South

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Edo South Senatorial District, Frank Idehen Osifo, has appealed to members of the party to put aside internal disagreements and work together ahead of the forthcoming election. He made the appeal while addressing party supporters, saying unity within the PDP would improve its chances of defeating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Osifo said the election should not be seen as a personal ambition but as an opportunity to improve the lives of people across Edo South. According to him, young graduates searching for jobs, traders struggling to support their families and farmers working to provide food all deserve better leadership and improved opportunities.

The PDP candidate said the party must move beyond the divisions that emerged during its primary election. He stated that members should focus on working together for victory rather than allowing past disagreements to weaken the party. He described himself as someone willing to bring everyone together in pursuit of a common goal.

Osifo also blamed the current security situation on the APC-led administrations at both the federal and state levels. He said insecurity has continued to affect communities and has made it difficult for many farmers to return safely to their farms.

According to him, lawmakers have a responsibility to introduce laws that improve security and create an environment where people can carry out their daily activities without fear. He added that stronger legislation would help tackle some of the challenges facing communities across the district.

Osifo further said many former representatives had gradually lost touch with the people after getting elected. He promised that if elected, he would remain accessible to residents, maintain regular contact with his constituents and pay attention to their needs.

He also pledged to work toward attracting development projects to communities within Edo South Senatorial District while ensuring that the concerns of the people receive proper attention at the National Assembly.

The PDP flag bearer thanked party members for choosing him as their candidate and expressed confidence that with unity and continued support from members, the party would be well positioned to secure victory in the coming election.
