2027: Makinde Unveils APM Campaign Council Friday

Oyo State Governor and the Allied People’s Movement (APM) presidential candidate, Seyi Makinde, will officially inaugurate the party’s Presidential and Governorship Campaign Council in Oyo State on Friday as preparations for the 2027 general elections continue. The event will take place at the Conference Room of the Governor’s Office in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, beginning at 3:30 p.m.


The announcement was made in a statement issued on Wednesday by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olarenwaju. According to the statement, the inauguration marks the formal rollout of the party’s campaign structure in the state ahead of the elections.


The statement disclosed that the Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Nureni Adeniran, has been appointed as the Oyo State Coordinator of the APM 2027 Presidential Campaign. He will also serve as the Director-General of the party’s Governorship Campaign Council in the state.


Other appointments announced include former Oyo East Local Government Chairman, Saheed Arowosaye, who will serve as Deputy State Coordinator for the presidential campaign. The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Demola Ojo, has been named Deputy Director-General for the Oyo South Senatorial District.


Dr. Femi Ojo and Alhaji Siju Lawal have also been appointed as Deputy Directors-General for Oyo Central and Oyo North Senatorial Districts respectively. The campaign structure also includes Hon. Ramata Agberemi Dabo as Director of the Women’s Wing, while former Special Assistant on Youth to the governor, Hon. Kazeem Bolarinwa, will head the Youth Wing.


The statement added that more members of the campaign council will be announced later as the party continues to strengthen its campaign team ahead of the 2027 general elections.
