The Deputy Spokesman of the House of Representatives, Philip Agbese, has launched a new political mobilisation group, the Renewed Hope Labourers Network (RHOLAN), to campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Agbese, a member of the Labour Party from Benue State, is the founder and Coordinating Director-General of the organisation, which aims to build support for Tinubu across Nigeria’s 176,846 polling units.
The network was unveiled in Abuja on Tuesday as a cross-party movement designed to take its campaign beyond established political parties and structures. Agbese said the group’s support for Tinubu was based on his assessment of the President’s economic policies and reform programme.
He said RHOLAN would focus on workers and grassroots communities, with plans to establish structures across the country. The group intends to combine digital tools with traditional political mobilisation to identify supporters, communicate with them and organise them ahead of the election.
Agbese said the network would use technology and data to connect directly with voters at the polling-unit level. He explained that the group would also provide information about the administration’s policies and what it considers to be its achievements.
According to him, the organisation would not limit its activities to state capitals, party offices or major cities. It plans to reach people in markets, farms, construction sites and the informal sector, where many Nigerians earn their livelihoods.
The lawmaker listed fiscal reforms, infrastructure, agriculture, electricity, road development and social investment as areas where the Tinubu administration could provide more opportunities for workers and people with low incomes.
He acknowledged that some of the government’s reforms had created difficulties for Nigerians in the short term but argued that the policies needed more time to produce the expected results. He said maintaining the current direction would allow the administration to strengthen and expand the reforms already introduced.
Agbese also said RHOLAN would campaign for continuity, arguing that changing government direction in the middle of the reform process could affect the progress being made. He said a second term for Tinubu would give the administration more time to develop and establish its policies.
The group plans to operate from its headquarters in Abuja while creating structures in different parts of the country. Its activities will include organising supporters, educating voters about government policies and mobilising people at the grassroots ahead of the 2027 election.
Agbese said the network also wants to change the way grassroots voters are treated during elections. Rather than seeing them only as people needed to cast ballots on election day, he said the organisation wants them to become active participants in the political process.
The lawmaker maintained that RHOLAN was created to take the pro-Tinubu campaign directly to communities and polling units. He said the group would work across party lines and focus on building support for the President among workers and other grassroots Nigerians.
He added that the organisation would continue building its nationwide network from Abuja, with the aim of mobilising supporters across all the country’s polling units ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
