The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Cross River State has credited the party’s current unity and progress in the state to the support of its national leader and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and its presidential candidate, Professor Sandy Onor.
The state PDP chairman, Venatius Ikem, said the two leaders had continued to support members and created opportunities for them to take up different responsibilities within the party.
Ikem made the remarks in a message marking five years in office for members of the State Executive Committee who returned for another term.
He said the years of service had provided members with experiences that shaped their political careers and encouraged them to remain committed to the party.
The state chairman congratulated the members of the committee on the anniversary and acknowledged the difficulties, sacrifices and experiences they had gone through during their time in office.
According to him, the committee had faced several challenges but its members remained dedicated to the PDP and continued working together to strengthen the party in Cross River State.
Ikem also noted that every position held by members of the committee had contributed to the overall strength of the party, regardless of the level or size of the responsibility.
He said the committee had been brought together by a shared commitment to service, sacrifice and political struggle, adding that the experiences gained over the years had helped members build stronger relationships.
The State Executive Committee also expressed appreciation to God for the challenges encountered during its years of service, saying the experiences provided lessons and allowed members to meet people who contributed positively to their lives.
The committee thanked party members, supporters and other stakeholders for their encouragement and assistance throughout its tenure.
It also congratulated all members on reaching five years in office and called for continued commitment to the party as they move forward with their political activities in the state.
