The All Progressives Congress, APC, has won four of the five legislative seats contested in the bye-elections held across four states on Saturday, September 19, 2026, with the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, congratulating the victorious candidates.
Yilwatda said the results showed that voters in the affected constituencies supported the APC and its candidates during the elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The APC candidates declared winners were Kallamu Usman MaiJama’a, who won the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency seat in Gombe State; Husseini Datti, who secured the Dawakin Kudu State Constituency seat in Kano State; Okolosi Ator, who emerged victorious in the Udu State Constituency election in Delta State; and Yakubu Ali, who won the Disina State Constituency seat in Bauchi State.
The APC chairman commended the successful candidates, party leaders, state chapters, campaign teams and voters for their participation in the electoral process.
He also acknowledged the role played by INEC, security agencies and other stakeholders in conducting the bye-elections across the affected states.
Yilwatda urged the newly elected APC lawmakers to see their victories as an opportunity to serve their constituents and remain committed to their responsibilities.
He also congratulated the APC National Working Committee, party members and supporters across the four states, describing the outcome as an indication of the party’s continued presence in the affected constituencies.
The APC National Chairman called on the elected candidates to remain focused on representing their constituents and working for the interests of the people who elected them.
The bye-elections were held to fill vacant legislative seats, with five legislative constituencies taking part in the exercise across the states involved.
The APC subsequently celebrated the victories of its four candidates and said the party would continue working to strengthen its structures while remaining focused on serving Nigerians.
