President Bola Tinubu’s Political Adviser, Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, has dismissed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s 2027 presidential ambition, saying the African Democratic Congress candidate cannot achieve his goal through what he described as desperation.
Masari made the remark while addressing members of the Jigawa State Academics Forum, where he spoke about the 2027 presidential election and the political contest between the ruling All Progressives Congress and opposition parties.
He said Atiku was aware of the difficulty of achieving his presidential ambition, while describing the ADC candidate’s bid as unrealistic.
Masari also presented the APC as the dominant political party in the country and said the 2027 election would largely be a choice between continuing with the policies of the Tinubu administration and returning power to the opposition.
He pointed to infrastructure development, economic diversification, security and efforts to reduce poverty as areas the Federal Government was focusing on under Tinubu.
The presidential adviser also praised members of the Jigawa State Academics Forum for their decision to support Tinubu and Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi for another term.
The development comes as political activities continue to build ahead of the 2027 general election, with Atiku seeking the presidency on the ADC platform while the APC prepares for Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
Masari’s comments reflect the growing political exchanges between supporters of the ruling party and opposition figures as the 2027 contest draws closer.
