Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 election, has criticised President Bola Tinubu over concerns about his health and called on the Federal Government to disclose his medical condition to Nigerians.
Sowore alleged that something was wrong within the Tinubu administration, linking the situation to what he described as previous attempts by past governments to conceal the health conditions of national leaders.
He claimed that Tinubu appeared to be in poor health when he arrived from Lagos and argued that the President should seek proper medical attention.
Sowore also accused the government of hiding the seriousness of Tinubu’s alleged health condition from Nigerians by presenting him at public events.
According to him, the President had previously been rushed away from an event, raising questions about his condition, before later appearing in Lagos where he was seen dancing.
The AAC chieftain said the government should tell Nigerians what is wrong with Tinubu and ensure that he receives appropriate treatment.
Sowore further argued that the country was already facing serious problems under Tinubu’s administration, adding that the situation had become a case where the condition of the country and those governing it were affecting each other.
He also said he did not consider Vice President Kashim Shettima a better alternative to Tinubu but noted that the Nigerian Constitution provides for the vice president to take over if the president is unable to continue in office.
