TCN Announces Six-Hour Power Outage, See Affected States

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a six-hour electricity disruption in parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Niger State and neighbouring communities due to scheduled maintenance at its Katampe transmission substation.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the company said the maintenance would take place on Thursday, October 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The exercise is expected to affect electricity supply to several communities served by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), which will be unable to receive power from the transmission substation for distribution to customers during the maintenance period.

Areas expected to experience the outage include parts of Kubwa, FO1, Gbazango, Byazin, Byazin Across, Dutse Alhaji, Dutse Makaranta, Ushafa and Bwari, as well as surrounding communities.

In Niger State, affected locations include parts of Suleja, Kaduna Road, Sabon Wuse, Dikko, Madalla, Zuba, Dakwa and Tugan Maji.

TCN apologised to electricity customers in the affected areas for the inconvenience the planned maintenance may cause.
