An 18-year-old apprentice in Anambra State has reportedly impregnated 10 girls within a five-month period.

The startling revelation was made by the Anambra State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, during a live broadcast on social media.
Describing the case as “beyond her capacity,” the Commissioner called on the public to offer suggestions on how best to respond.

According to Obinabo, the young man was initially sent to serve as an apprentice but, within three months, had impregnated both his master’s daughter and a female sales assistant.
Following the incident, he was sent back to his village.
There, in the span of just two months, he allegedly impregnated eight more girls in the community.
“This matter is beyond me,” Obinabo said.
“He was sent to learn a trade at 18, and only three months in, he had already impregnated two girls.

The Commissioner added that the boy’s mother had visited her office, seeking assistance as the situation spiraled out of control.
The woman reportedly shared her fear and anxiety whenever she sees young girls approaching their home.
Obinabo questioned whether the situation could have a spiritual dimension, given the boy’s age and the number of pregnancies involved.
She emphasized her need for public input and stressed that expert advice and community support may be essential in resolving the issue.
For privacy reasons, the boy’s identity and the specific community involved have not been disclosed.
However, the story has quickly gone viral on social media, sparking widespread discussion.
Many have suggested psychological evaluation, counseling, and rehabilitation for the boy, alongside support for the affected girls and their families.
The case continues to generate public debate, with increasing calls for urgent government and community intervention.
