Although the exact number of casualties has not yet been confirmed, TRACE disclosed that emergency responders, including firefighters from Ogun State, Nestlé, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), police, and other security operatives, rushed to the scene to bring the fire under control. Efforts to decant the remaining fuel and clear the area were ongoing as of Friday morning.

Traffic along the busy route has been diverted to a single lane to allow emergency teams to manage the situation. Authorities have urged road users to remain calm, cooperate with officials, and exercise patience as recovery work continues.
