Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, has stepped down from his position in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration following allegations raised against him.

Nnaji, who joined the cabinet in August 2023, tendered his resignation in a letter addressed to the President, where he expressed gratitude for the chance to serve the country.

His exit was confirmed in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.According to the statement, President Tinubu accepted Nnaji’s decision to leave his post and acknowledged his contributions to the administration.

Nnaji explained that he had faced various forms of blackmail and pressure from political opponents during his time in office.President Tinubu was said to have wished the former minister success in his future pursuits and thanked him for his service to the nation.

Nnaji’s resignation brings an end to his tenure of just over a year in the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology.
