Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, who has been reportedly unwell, was recently spotted at the 1-54 London Art Fair.
A short video posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday captured Edun visiting the O’DA Art Gallery booth alongside two other individuals.
Earlier reports indicated that the minister had been receiving medical treatment in Nigeria before travelling to the United Kingdom for further care. His illness was confirmed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to reports from Western Post earlier in the week, Edun left the country to continue his medical treatment abroad. As a result of his condition, he is not expected to attend the ongoing World Bank and International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings in Washington, D.C.
The Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Olayemi Cardoso, is leading Nigeria’s delegation to the global finance meetings, which began on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
Edun’s public appearance at the London event comes amid growing public curiosity about his health status and the impact of his absence on Nigeria’s economic engagements.
