Oyebanji Assures APC of Total Victory in 2026 Ekiti Election

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win across all 177 wards in the upcoming governorship election scheduled for June 20, 2026.

The governor made the statement on Saturday in his hometown, Ikogosi-Ekiti, during the APC delegates congress held across the state. He said that the peaceful conduct of the congress and the growing cooperation among party members show the APC’s readiness for a strong performance in the next election.

Oyebanji explained that delegates were chosen through consensus in all wards, adding that the unity between leaders and members has strengthened the party’s base.

He noted that the APC has continued to attract more supporters because of its performance and commitment to good governance.

The APC National Working Committee had earlier confirmed Oyebanji as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2026 governorship election after Mrs. Atinuke Olayemi Omolayo stepped down, leaving him as the only contender.

Two other aspirants, Kayode Ojo and Abimbola Olawumi, were disqualified during the screening process.Chairman of the APC Delegates Congress Committee for Ekiti, Jaret Tenebe, who supervised the congress, described the process as peaceful and well-coordinated.

He praised the unity within the party and said the cooperation displayed at the congress level gives confidence that the APC is well-positioned for victory in 2026.

The governor’s supporters believe that the achievements of his administration and the harmony among party members will give the APC an advantage as the state prepares for the election.
