Shehu shared this view on Tuesday through a post on his official X account, where he drew a connection between the PDP’s fall from power and what he described as the APC’s growing disregard for the public.

He recalled that the PDP, which once ruled Nigeria for 16 years, lost control after years of internal pride and broken trust among its leaders. He pointed out that the same pattern may repeat itself if the APC continues on its current path.

According to Shehu, the APC is losing touch with citizens by weakening public institutions, intimidating people, and acting as if power will last forever. He said such behavior usually leads to collapse, as seen in previous governments.

He noted that no government built on arrogance and unfairness remains strong for long and warned that the ruling party may soon face a decline if it does not change its ways.

Shehu added that power belongs to God and that those who misuse it will eventually be replaced, just as history has shown with past administrations.
