The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has suspended four of its top officials for one month following a court order that stopped the party’s planned national convention.

Those affected include the National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade; National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; Deputy Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha; and National Organizing Secretary, Umaru Bature.

The decision was taken during an emergency meeting of the NWC held on Saturday at the party’s office in Maitama, Abuja. The meeting was called after the court ruling, which directed the party to halt preparations for the convention until further notice.

The suspended officials were also referred to the party’s disciplinary committee for further action in line with its constitution.
The PDP has been facing internal challenges over leadership and convention arrangements, and the latest suspension adds to the growing tension within the party.
