Operatives of the Department of State Services have arrested a suspected arms maker after uncovering an alleged supply chain tied to recent violence in Plateau State. The arrest took place on November 12, 2025, when officers acted on intelligence that directed them to a workshop in the Mista Ali area of Bassa Local Government Area.

The suspect, identified as Musa Abubakar, was taken into custody during the raid. According to the DSS, he was believed to have produced and sold weapons and ammunition to armed groups involved in attacks across Plateau and other northern states. Items found at the workshop included components used for improvised explosive devices, chemicals and tools believed to support his operations.

The service explained that the arrest followed weeks of tracking the suspect’s activities, which led agents to the arms-making site. The operation was described as part of wider efforts to curb the spread of weapons in areas troubled by insecurity.

This development comes shortly after the DSS recaptured Abdulazeez Obadaki, known as Bomboy, a fugitive linked to the Owo and Deeper Life Church attacks. The agency had also earlier announced the arrest of nine other suspects, including 46-year-old Timna Manjol, during ongoing security operations across the region.
